Among the greatest foundations of our relationship with Allāh are love (Maḥabbah) and fear (Khawf). The scholars describe fear (Khawf) and hope (Rajā’) as the two wings of a bird, and love (Maḥabbah) is its head. A believer cannot fly to Allāh without all three.
