In the Qur’ān, Allāh tells us something deeply important about the nature of the human being. He reminds us that forgetfulness, weakness, and distraction are part of our human nature.

When we think of success, we often think about achievements: wealth, education, a successful career, influence, recognition, a comfortable home, or a respected position in society.

My dear brothers, sisters, respected guests, and dear friends, we have gathered here today to witness and celebrate the blessed nikāḥ of brother A and sister B.

Among the blessings that Allāh has bestowed upon mankind is clothing. It is something we wear every day, often without giving it much thought.

As Canada Day approaches, many people around us will celebrate the blessings and opportunities this country offers.

Today, we reflect on a sin that the Qur’ān warns against in the strongest possible terms, a sin so serious that Allāh Himself declares war against those who persist in it.

As the Hujjāj prepare to fulfill one of Islām’s greatest obligations - Ḥajj - there are countless lessons and reflections we can draw from this remarkable journey.

One of the essential components of nikāh is that the mahr (dowry) is clearly and mutually agreed upon by both parties.

When we reflect on the Qur’ān, it becomes clear that eating ḥalāl is not simply a recommendation, but a clear command from Allāh.

One of the strongest ways to reset the heart is to step back and think about where we came from and where we’re headed.
