Specific Occasions

My dear brothers, sisters, respected guests, and dear friends, we have gathered here today to witness and celebrate the blessed nikāḥ of brother A and sister B.

As Canada Day approaches, many people around us will celebrate the blessings and opportunities this country offers.

One of the essential components of nikāh is that the mahr (dowry) is clearly and mutually agreed upon by both parties.

The reality of life is that one day it must come to an end. Everyone who enters this Dunyā (world) must eventually leave. The only way of exit from this world is through Mawt (death).

Allāh, in His Perfect Wisdom, has blessed certain times and certain places with virtues and great rewards with which He has not graced others.

Allāh has blessed us once again with life and health to witness the dawn of another new Islāmic year.

Alḥamdulillah, once again Allāh has granted us the health and wellbeing by which we have all been blessed to witness and celebrate these sacred days of Dhū al-Ḥijjah.

For most of us, we have left our birthplaces and native lands to brighten and improve our lives and future, and to seek the many wonderful opportunities that this great country has to offer.
